Can Rick Simpson Oil Treat Cancer?

In an interesting and thought-provoking new television commercial, a man whose name is Rick talks about his experiences with cancer. He says that he was diagnosed with lung cancer four years ago and that the radiation treatments had “done their job.” At one point, he adds, “I almost died.” His voice cracks, and he winces as he talks about his two children. His voice is rough, and the look on his face when he talks about them is grim.

At one point in the commercial, the camera pans up to show a lump on the back of the man’s neck. When he talks about it, he reveals that it’s just a bone. “That’s all that there is,” he says. Rick Simpson Oil Treat Cancer? Yes, it’s a possible, though unproven, remedy.

“ Many Doctors Said that RSO is the Only Cure to Cancer

The question then becomes, “What is Rick Simpson oil?” He doesn’t sell it. According to the TV commercial, it’s a “lotion,” which is another word for a petroleum jelly. Just off the bat, it appears that the company behind the product has either forgotten that it’s not an actual oil (as defined by the FDA), or doesn’t care (as they probably don’t make it).

Another thing that sticks out is the tag line on one of the ads. It reads, ” Rick Simpson Oils All Cures.” That could be advertising-speak for “we sell products that won’t cure you.” On the other hand, you could also read that to mean that he personally uses the product and says it does help him. There are obvious problems here, and Rick is clearly relying on his fans’ trust in him to manage the situation.

Now let’s take a look at the actual ad. The first question to arise is: “Is it an herbal cure?” The answer to that question is no. Again, the wording on the ads clearly leaves something to be desired. At best, we can assume that it’s a moisturizer.

Next up is the question of what the product actually contains. Well, there’s no mention of it being made from ” Rick Simpson oils.” It could very well be some kind of fragrance, similar to what he uses on television. We do know that it’s not an oil, because it doesn’t come from olives, grapes, nuts, or any of the other foods typically used as oils. So it could very well be a fragrance, like what’s in the expensive colognes and body sprays that all of us women buy.
